# Grant Permissions (Controlled)

Grant Proposal Creation Permissions to a Swarm Member

Controlled Type DAO's grant special permissions to the Swarm Creator, allowing the Swarm Creator to perform special actions that no other member can perform in the Swarm.

In a Controlled DAO, not every member can create proposals like in other types of DAOs.

In a Controlled DAO, the Swarm Creator has the ability to create proposals and must decide who else can create proposals in the DAO (if anyone).

The Swarm Creator must grant permission to other members in order for those members to be allowed to create proposals.

Once the Swarm Creator has granted permissions to another member of the Swarm and allowed them to create proposals, that member can create proposals indefinitely (Or until the Swarm Creator removes proposal creation permissions from the member).

Use the Grant Permissions action to add or remove proposal creation permissions from another swarm member.

## How to Grant Proposal Creation Permissions to a Swarm member in a Controlled DAO

Click the Grant Permissions button (SCALE ICON) from the "Actions" column of the Swarm's members table

1. Open the "Voters" menu
2. Click the Grant Permissions button (SCALE ICON) from the "Action" column of the Swarm Members Table to open the Grant Permissions interface (See Below)

1. Toggle to Grant / Remove the users permissions to create proposals&#x20;
